     I also love hearing about design disasters that have happy endings, as well as those helpful and sometimes embarrassing stories about mistakes that you had to learn to live with. My current favorite is the one about the couple who always hit their heads on the ceiling of their crawl space and remember what a mistake it was not to build a full basement when they had the chance. (By the way, that couple was me and my husband, Richard!)
